Why Hearts Don't Belong on Your Sleeve

After finally deciding that wearing my heart on my sleeve just wasn't practical, I returned it to its cage in my chest and have been amazed by how different things have been.

A sleeve simply isn't the right place for a heart. A heart bleeds and though most of my clothes are dark in colour, I got tired of one my arms always being wet. I constantly had to wash my hands so I didn't freak people out when I wanted to shake theirs...

Then there was the problem of my clumsiness. I trip quite a bit, but I rarely fall... Too many times my heart would go hurling through the air at great speeds when I would stumble and oh, what mess it would make!!

People complained in libraries that my heart made too much noise. Children screamed when they saw me coming their way...

Yes, things are much quieter now that my heart is once again locked inside my chest where its safe from the rest of the world....
